A little bit more about Chris whose art hangs on walls around the world.

FB_IMG_1500184274953

He would draw in his spare time until in the late 1990’s when after seeing a number of artist producing and selling their own work on the streets of Europe and worldwide.

Having produced portraits and family pets for friends , neighbours etc he discovered that he thoroughly enjoyed producing these drawings and how good it would be to do it for a living.

It was then when he contacted various merchandising and licensing company’s with his drawings that he found himself producing film stars and football players for mass production that were then published throughout the UK in high street stores such as Clinton cards and various football clubs.

These drawings then went from strength to strength on various formats featuring on tv programs and trade magazines etc.

His pencil drawings are sketched entirely by hand, taking usually between two to three weeks to produce.
They are sold worldwide on prints and greeting cards to an ever growing public across Australia, the USA and Europe.

He has  focused his subjects on popular icons, legends and celebrities for a number of years now. Chris will also look at taking on commissions but with the quality of his work as you can imagine is booked up for a few years in advance.

Chris is also looking at  producing future works with exciting images of New York, Paris, Venice and the Human form with the  growing interest in his work he is  looking forward to these new challenges and bringing them to you wherever you are in the world.

We look forward to bringing  you Chris’s art to our gallery wall during July 2017.

New releases and reissues due 14th July…. Part 1

It’s nearly Friday again and that time of the week when we bring you the best of this week’s new releases and reissues.

We start with the new releases…..

Mr Jukes………… God First

Jack Steadman’s (frontman from Bombay Bicycle Club) next move is no mere reinvention: Mr Jukes is a passion-project which feels distinctly back-to-your roots in flavour, allowing Steadman to explore the crate-digging influences of soul, funk, hip-hop and jazz – from Bill Withers to John Coltrane, via Floating Points. God First’ features an eclectic, carefully-curated cast of guests including: BJ The Chicago Kid, Charles Bradley, Lianne La Havas, Horace Andy, Laleh Hathaway & Elli Ingram. With the first single already being  Mistajams ROTW on Radio 1 and NME ROTW it looks like this is going to be heading for a good chart position next week.

We will have both CD and Vinyl formats available.

Mura Masa……….Mura Masa

He is the most exciting British producer in the UK right now and this album comes off the back of huge streaming successes including Firefily, Lovesick and What If I Go which have racked up over 150million spotify streams combined to date. The new single ‘All Around The World’ (ft. Desiigner), which first aired as Radio 1’s Hottest Record in The World and is the next taste of Mura Masa’s much-anticipated, self-titled debut album, which also includes recent singles ‘Firefly’, ‘What If I Go?’, ‘Lovesick’ and ‘1 Night’ (ft. Charli XCX). ‘All Around the World’, is a thrilling highlight on an ever-surprising debut album, recorded alongside an extraordinarily diverse cast-list: ranging from Damon Albarn, Christine & The Queens and Charli XCX to ASAP Rocky, Jamie Lidell, A. K. Paul, and affiliates of Alex’s own Anchor Point family (like Nao, Bonzai and Tom Tripp). In and amongst all that, musically you’re as likely to find Prince-style wired funk sitting next to rap as you are tropical-inflected house and acoustic balladry. It’s singularly Mura Masa’s vision of what pop music (and modern British culture) should look like in 2017. Even the artwork rejects the idea of running to the page, or living in a box. Having been nominated for his first Ivor Novello Award and added to an extensive run of summer festivals, Mura Masa’s autumn headline tour featuring his biggest headline show to date at Brixton Academy.

The album is released as Limited Bespoke CD (WITH GRAPHICS PRINTED DIRECTLY ON THE CASE) , LP – 180g heavyweight single vinyl in a sleeve.

Our dedicated Elton John Section ……

We probably have one of the most extensive Elton John vinyl and memorabilia sections in any record shop in the UK with our link up with www.eltonjohnstore.com

Some of the items we have date back to the the beginning of Elton’s career and are now extremely rare.

We have a major vinyl section which contains many first pressings of Elton’s classic early albums.

If you visit us and are a fan of The Rocket Man then please ask to see our own archive of Elton clippings which extends to thousands of items in four A3 size bound volumes.

Yes I am a bit of a fan myself which I think will probably be evident when you walk through the doors.

If you can’t make it to the shop then we will be making some items available via our dedicated online Elton John Store…… click here to see what we have available. We will ship worldwide on most items.
